Yes OST students, there is a Georgia M.

Every student who enrolls in a course at the O'Reilly School of Technology will have the opportunity to work with our dedicated Student Support Specialist, Georgia M. Georgia is usually the first contact a new OST student makes with a member of our staff. She's every student's go-to person for all concerns administrative, financial, and those yet to be imagined.

Because Georgia performs so many different administrative functions with such dazzling efficiency, it came to our attention that some of our students suspected she wasn't an actual person, but some kind of futuristic bot or automated program that we'd created to mimic personal attention and interest in individual students. This surprising revelation is the primary motivation behind this post. We'd like our students, both current and prospective, to know that Georgia is indeed a real, living, breathing, caring human, and she's here to help you! She wants to hear from you, and takes great pride in enabling your success. She is committed to making your experience with us as positive and enjoyable as possible.

Her daily tasks include reviewing enrollments, welcoming new students, and explaining details about registration and beginning the student course experience. In addition, students bring new and unique questions to Georgia daily.

While she prefers to keep a low public profile, those of you who have made contact with her, either on the phone or online, know that she is sincere, responsive, energetic, and has a genuine desire to help. She is empathetic and appreciates your concerns, and is devoted to finding the most effective and efficient ways to address them. Georgia truly roots for our students.

In conversation with Senior Development Manager, Trish Gray, on OST's show-and-tell day, Georgia (on occasion also known as, Margaret Tudor, Dowager Queen of Scotland--ask her about it sometime) shares her thoughts on her role at OST:

Georgia is as genuine as they come, and she brings real passion to her work. OST is a dynamic school with a widely diverse and energized student body, so there are always new, strange, and challenging issues for Georgia to resolve. Fortunately for us, she loves these kinds of challenges. In all honesty, if Georgia were a robot or computerized unit, we would have replicated her at least three times by now. But because she's a real person, on occasion she has to eat, sleep, go home to feed her dog, or say hello to her husband. While this does take its toll on productivity, we think it's a pretty worthwhile trade-off.

You can reach Georgia, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (PST) at (707) 827-7187 or (800) 998-9938 ext. 7187, or email her at info@oreillyschool.com.

Customer Hospitality -- I like it and can see the difference versus Customer Support from other websites. I appreciate your help, advice, and hospitality.

Margaret Tudor, Dowager Queen of Scotland?

Hi John,

Thanks for your kind words. We are big fans of Georgia's style of Customer Hospitality as well. As for her mysterious alter ego, definitely ask her about it next time you chat with her! As you can imagine, she's really passionate about that part of her life too.

Thanks for posting,

Kerry

GeorgiaM is an unsung hero, and I'm so happy OST is singing (blogging?) her praises. Georgia's helped me with all manner of questions and is ALWAYS responsive, cheerful, courteous, and professional. GeorgiaM is one of the reasons I keep taking OST classes and referring my colleagues. Nice to finally see her in all her finery.

I hear you, Chaz. I've worked with Georgia for about eight years now and she has come through for me many times too. It's great to hear from other people who appreciate her like we do! Thanks for the post, for taking our courses, and for the references as well. We love to hear from our students and we're really grateful for your kind words.

Kerry

Thank You John and Chaz,

It is my greatest pleasure to assist our students and to make OST the best there is :) :)

I am wishing everyone a Happy Holiday Season and looking forward to hearing from you in the New Year.

Georgia

Customer hospitality is a noble concept from a noblewoman, thanks Georgia for sharing your thoughts with us.

I just finished talking with Georgia and I must say that all the things I have read about her are true. She is a complete joy to work with. Very patient and willing to help no matter what the problem is. Very pleasant and easy going. I wish there were more Georgia's in customer support!!
